What Are Home Modifications?
Home modifications can be as easy as adding grab rails and installing an access ramp, to installing automatic lighting or doors, to more involved modifications, like changing internal structures and home layout.
Home modifications are completed to allow an older person or someone with disability to safely move around their home, giving them more independence and reducing the risk of injury.
Home modifications can also be very helpful for carers. E.g. Installation of a bath grab rail can save the need for a carer to lift the person out of the bath, reducing the risk of injury.
